About The Artist
Knut Mueller was born in Germany near Hamburg. He moved to Tasmania, Australia in 1982 and has been here ever since. He is one
of the locals by Tassie standards. His jewellery making is definitely inspired by the rugged beauty of Tasmania. He lives
and works on the East Coast. His shop is in the Coastal town of St. Helens and he resides in Binalong Bay, the start of the
famous Bay of Fires. You will find him most days in his shop working on his latest creations. When he's not there, he's usually
at the beach! Tasmania has some of the most pristine untouched beaches in the world.
He uses a number of techniques in his jewellery design. You can come into the shop in St Helens at any
time and see the artist at work. Many of his designs are initially saw pierced and meticulously filed from sheet such
as in his "Tree of Life" or carved out of wax as in his "Dragons & Tasmanian Devils." He has made
specialty pieces from cuttlefish castings and more... All jewellery is then refined, hand polished, buffed and
made into fine jewellery.
The items on this site
are readily available unless otherwise noted and can be shipped around the world. Knut can make pieces for you
in any of the precious metals mentioned above. None of his work is plated, rolled or hollow. Many of the gold items on
this site are created in 9kt Gold. However any item can be done in 14kt or 18kt, rose, yellow or white
gold. He can add gemstones to pieces upon request. If you ask Knut, "is it possible?" He will answer,
"Yes." It can be a matter of time and what your budget allows, but we are always happy to have a chat, give you a quote and a time frame on special requests.
